ART VIETNAM

The history of Vietnam Fine Arts has began when the French colonialists established the "Fine Arts College of Indochine" (FACI) which exclusively opened for the three Indochine countries Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia following an allaround European training method.
Perhaps every Vietnamese artist has experienced living in the countryside for a period of life so most of his works shows beauty of the nature, village or even simplicity of Vietnamese people. Extremely simple in form and quite tasteful in colors, their presentation reflected spaciousness, laying emphasis on the general composition.
Vietnamese fine arts have made a strong contribution towards augmenting people's knowledge after and beyond the war. War crime, the innocents and happiness of liberty day are the titles put in arts during a long history struggling against invasions.
Vietnamese artists know how to adopt Western techniques but to paint in their own language. As a result, Vietnam contemporary artists form a bridge between modern Vietnam and traditions. Their works are graceful, simple and gentle, like the Vietnamese people themselves, deserves greater recognition.
With the techniques abstractionism, generalization, conditioning, symbolism, attached special importance to the rhythm and general impression to create aesthetic efficiency for the products.
